Outside the Classroom

At The Summit we feel strongly that learning goes well beyond our classroom walls. Whether it is a structured field trip as part of the school day, after school Fun Zone, Summer at the Summit, High School Internships, Middle School Job Shadows, or impromptu walks through Chesterfield Village, we try and get our learners outside the school building. But this philosophy even extends beyond that. We recognize the valuable learning that happens on family trips, in club sports, in hobbies, in community theatre, in music competitions. The Summit makes every effort to accomodate, encourage, and celebrate these “out-of-school” activities. Whether it is as simple as letting a student out of school early to go to a practice or awarding high school credit for a summer internship, The Summit embraces learning in all its forms.
