The Summit seeks a partnership with each child’s family. Parents are valued for their ability to enhance the classroom and community of The Summit.  Likewise, parents are expected to support the mission of the school and to participate in the life of the school. The Summit Parent Organization (SPO) is a great way to get involved and help with your child(ren)’s education. Below are some great tips on how to maintain a cooperative relationship between school and home.

With your child(ren):

  • Review student work daily
  • Check but NEVER do the student’s homework
  • Check the website for school, class, and homework information
  • Help identify the student’s gifts and talents

With the teacher:

  • Meet with the teacher prior to the opening of school year to discuss their child
  • Attend parent-teacher conferences
  • Participate in goal setting for the student
  • Communicate regularly with a positive attitude

With the school:

  • Pay tuition and fees on time
  • Support the Annual Fundraiser Event through the gifts and participation
  • Identify businesses and individuals who will support the school with gifts and donations
  • Identify businesses and individuals who will provide scholarships for children in need
