A note from 4th grade about their upcoming walk.
Dear Summit Community,
Fourth graders at The Summit have formed a team for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Walk to Cure Diabetes.  We chose this worthy cause for a project because two of our classmates have type 1 diabetes. The Walk draws people together in a healthy activity for a worthy cause while raising money to help find better treatments and a cure.
This year’s Walk takes place on Saturday, April 28, 2012, and we’re asking for your support. Now more than ever, EACH of us can make a real difference in the lives of people with type 1 diabetes. Please join our team, make a donation, and begin fundraising. It’s simple, fast and fun!
Visit our team page to register and join the team! Once you register, you’ll find fundraising tips and tools in the Participant Center.
If you are unable to join our team, please consider making an online donation. Our team fundraising goal is $500.00 and with your support, we are sure we’ll exceed this! Donating online is quick, easy and secure; however, if you would prefer, you can drop your contribution off at the front desk of The Summit. Make your gift payable to JDRF.

Beginning in the 2012-13 school year, The Summit will launch the Beginners program. This is a great way to prepare student for Pre-Kindergarten and the school environment. This program provides young learners with a solid foundation for entering school, while being enriched by Music, Spanish, Art, technology, and movement. Students will have the opportunity to learn the culture of school and will work on beginning academic concepts as well as social structure.

Holding to The Summit’s mission of “Inspiring the Joy of Learning,” the Beginners program nurtures the innate curiosity of children and helps instill problem-solving and critical thinking. Students will learn that school is a fun and exciting place, and will leave the Beginners program ready to jump into more structured academics in Pre-Kindergarten.

With half-day and full-day options available, families can choose the program that best fits the needs of their family and their student.

The Summit is excited to screen new students for the 2012-2013 school year. There are currently open positions in every grade level, but spaces are filling up quickly!
