Dear Parents, Students, and Friends,
We welcome you to THE SUMMIT Preparatory School of Southwest Missouri. In the fall of 2005, we opened our school doors and have changed, forever, the educational opportunities for our students. Providing an integrated curriculum, a standard of small classes (16:1) and an innovative language study program are all hallmarks of our school program, unmatched by any schools in our area. Our program is designed to challenge our eager, able students and to develop their skills and talents to their fullest potential.
We have worked as a school community to adhere to our mission statement, which is centered on educating the whole child and nurturing students as they grow. From each corner of our school, we see the positive effects of our professional staff, our strong curriculum, and the high standards we set for personal integrity. At THE SUMMIT, you will find a diverse collection of activities and programs which enrich students’ lives and promote educational thinking. In addition, it is such a pleasure to be in a peaceful, yet invigorating environment, where smiles abound and students truly enjoy their learning experiences.
As we think about the future of our school, we see the opportunities and challenges for growth. At THE SUMMIT, we will keep our eyes focused on the future as we build our own school traditions and celebrations, and as we plan for future facilities of our own. The generosity of our parents and members of our community have allowed us to successfully implement our school plan this first year, and we have appreciated the support of both time and finances to make this dream a reality.
As we celebrate our successes, we balance this with the realistic understanding that we have only just begun the journey to becoming a leader among independent schools in the Midwest. We invite you to visit our school campus and see the steps we’ve made toward this goal. It’s an adventure!
