Sarah Leighninger began her education career teaching Spanish at Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School in Joplin, Missouri, where she was also the P.E. teacher for elementary students and served as the head coach for the middle school volleyball and track team.
Sarah has been with the Summit since it began in 2005, teaching all levels of Spanish and serving on numerous committees including strategic planning, policy, and crisis management. She is also a mentor teacher and a member of The Summit’s leadership team. This year she is teaching both lower and upper school Spanish and will serve as the 6th grade level mentor for students and parents. Sarah lives in Springfield with her husband, Brad, and their three children, Molly (12), Ellie (9), and Hudson (6). In her free time Sarah enjoys traveling with her family, participating in BBQ competitions, and most recently, golfing.
