First Day

We had a wonderful day in first grade.  After reading First Day Jitters by Julie Danneberg, first graders drew pictures showing what they were both excited and nervous about for the first day of school.  In the story they learned that both students and teachers can be nervous about the first day. In addition to reading, we had a great time playing with math manipulatives including dominoes, pattern blocks, and unifix cubes.  Students learned a little about our classroom fish and went to both music and Spanish.  We’ve had a great start to the year.
