Spelling

This week, first grade students selected their first spelling list.  Working as a class, we brainstormed a list of short a words, each varying in difficult. Students chose 8 words either from the list or from a dictionary.  These lists will be sent home in yellow spelling folders.  Please ensure that your child brings his or her folder to school daily as we will practice spelling words through literacy centers periodically throughout the week.  Weekly spelling assessments will be conducted on Friday.
