First graders have now published their “Cloudy with a Chance of…” writing pieces.  Working with the teacher, students typed their stories into Word.   With assistance, they aligned the title, author, and body of the text.  After typing, they reread their stories to edit, checking to see that they enhanced their writing by using adjectives to describe the food that came from the sky.  Students selected a font style and size, ensuring their document fit onto one page.  Working with the teacher they used the spelling and grammar check to further edit before saving and printing their writing.  For most this was the first time using spell check, and it was challenging to select the word with the correct spelling.
