Ou words

This week’s spelling and word work focuses on words with the /ou/ sound. Students brainstormed a list of words and then selected their personal spelling list. Choices range from three letter words such as “out” to eight letter words such as “mountain.” First graders are encouraged to choose words relevant to reading and writing including sight words and content related vocabulary. Have your child search for “ou” words in their reading at home this week.
