Polygons

What are polygons?  First graders know they are 2-dimensional figures.  They have at least three sides, straight lines, and form a closed shape.  Using shape templates and straight edges, students connected line segments to draw examples of polygons.  On the same poster, students also created examples of shapes that are not polygons.  Geoboards provided yet another way of constructing polygons and non-polygons.
