Th is another digraph sound first graders are learning about in phonics and spelling.  Th can make two sounds, a hard or voiced sound as in that, and soft or unvoiced sound as in thumb.  Our spelling lists this week will contain both hard and soft th sounds.  Students were encouraged to select th sight words which include:  the, that this, they, there, their, then, them, than, these, things, think, through, three, thought, thousands, themselves, and thick.
