Venn Diagrams

This week first graders have begun using Venn Diagrams to represent sets.  Working with hula hoops, students positioned circles to overlap, showing relationships between sets of objects.  Students were asked to sort various objects into the appropriate spot based on like and unlike attributes.  They were also asked to interpret information presented in Venn Diagrams, determining the number of objects with similarities and differences.  Finally, students worked in groups to complete Groundhog Day themed Venn Diagrams and worked independently on IXL.photo
