Welcome Back!

We had a wonderful first day of school.  Full of excitement, and a little bit of nervousness, we began our day learning about some basic first grade routines.  Students put away lunch boxes, water bottles, and supplies.  They hung their backpacks on the hooks, read the morning message, and completed their morning work.  Then, after getting to know one another a little better, we read aloud The Night Before First Grade.  Making connections, we discussed the many things we did to get ready for the very first day of first grade.  As a follow up activity, during centers, students wrote and drew pictures about coming to first grade.
