Superheroes

Albeit short, we had a wonderful first week in first grade.  As we begin building our classroom community, we are following a superhero theme.  Students enjoyed making masks, selecting superhero names, and discussing qualities and characteristics of superheroes. In completing a self assessment or student inventory, students identified their super powers, or what they are good at, their weaknesses, or what they would like to get better at, and how they are going to change the world, or what they hope to achieve in the future.
