Students enjoyed listening The Curious Garden by Peter Brown today for read aloud. Selecting this book from the library, as it pertains to our study of the environment, we were pleasantly surprised when one of our classmates recognized that we had read another book by this author earlier in the year, You Will Be My Friend?. First grade students were eager to visit the author’s website to learn more about him, his books, and his illustrations. They especially enjoyed viewing an interview of Peter Brown, conducted by Lucy, one of his story’s fictitious characters. We hope to expand our author study by checking out additional books by Peter Brown from our local library.
