This week in spelling and word work, first grade will begin working with vowel digraphs or vowel teams. Vowel teams will be introduced in the order of how frequently they are used, which is the following: ea, oa, ai, ee, ay, and oe. Today, as we began ea, we reviewed the two vowels go walking rule which says, “When two vowels go walking, the first one does the talking, and says its name.”
