Lightning

Yesterday, first grade students began learning about lightning.  After partner reading, they completed two reading comprehension activities, one involving factual recall and the other determining the solution to a given problem.  Vocabulary terms introduced included: bolt, electricity, fork lightning, lightning, lightning rod, sheet lightning, and strike.  As we complete our study of weather this week and the week following spring break, we will read and learn about tornadoes, floods, and hurricanes.
