Digraph th

This week’s spelling and word work focus introduces a third digraph, th.  Students have learned that th can make two different sounds and will practice distinguishing between the two.  For example, in that, th makes a hard or voiced sound, whereas in thumb, th makes a soft or unvoiced sound.  Activities this week will include typing our spelling words, sorting words based on where the th occurs in the word, partner reading books emphasizing th, and searching for th words in our reading.
