Reading Folders

With initial reading assessments completed, first grade students are using their reading folders to read independently.  Each child’s folder contains books that are appropriate for his or her individual instructional reading level.   Instructional reading levels are assigned based on reading accuracy and comprehension. Reading levels used in our reading folders are correlated to assigned reading levels on individualized reading programs such as Razkids.

In addition to books, students will be keeping individual sight words in their reading folders.  They are encouraged to practice these words a few times throughout the week.
