Digraph ch

Today, students were introduced to consonant digraph ch.  A digraph, unlike a blend, is two successive letters that make one new phonetic sound.  We have learned an action along with a phrase to help us remember, “a digraph is two letters that come together to make one sound.”  For spelling this week, we will focus on beginning and ending digraph ch. Word work centers will include creating a chain of ch words, cutting and sorting ch words based on the location of ch, and searching for ch words while partner reading Chip the Chimp and Cheese Power .
