Google Docs

IMG_4535First grade students have been working to create, title, and type documents in Google Docs.  Up to this point, students have primarily used Docs to type weekly spelling lists.  However, over the past couple of weeks, we have begun typing or “publishing” a few selected written works including our Creepy Carrots mood description, Little Red Hen parodies, and Rough-Faced Girl character analysis. Today, we began learning how to share documents and view comments.  Students will be expected to read comments, make corrections,  and respond or resolve.

IMG_4537We are also learning many simple formatting rules and techniques as listed below.  We will continue to practice these skills throughout the trimester.

  • typing text
  • using special keys
  • indentation and alignment
  • formatting text
  • appropriate use of spaces
  • line spacing
  • using spell check
  • font style and size
