Read Across America Day

This week, first grade students have enjoyed a mini-author study on a favorite author, Dr. Seuss.  Beginning on Monday, Kindergarten students joined us for a reading activity.   Working in trios, Kindergarten and first grade enjoyed sharing some of their favorite Seuss books.

Continuing with the Seuss theme, today’s centers included the following:

  • Dr. Seuss Poetry – rhyming, reading, and writing
  • Dr. Seuss character matching and word search
  • Dr. Seuss websites – The Cat in the Hat Knows a lot About That and Seussville
  • Our Class Loves Dr. Seuss Graph
  • Student reading choice
  • Time for Kids partner reading
  • Headsprout
  • Razkids
  • Independent reading (reading folder)
  • Sight word bingo
