Ordinal Numbers

img_5835First grade students are learning that ordinal numbers tell positions.  Working with ordinal numbers, students will be asked to sequence numbers and objects, write and spell ordinal number words correctly, and practice directionality. Centers will incorporate cutting, sorting, gluing, and match ordinal numbers.  Students will play games with ordinal numbers such as bingo and complete problem solving activities.  Solving word problems with ordinal numbers, students will practice reading steps carefully and accurately and apply problem solving strategies by drawing and labeling pictures.
