Vowel Team ay

This morning, first grade students were introduced to vowel team ay.  After brainstorming our list of words, we quickly recognized that ay usually comes at the end of the word.  With the introduction of the ay pattern,  students now know three ways to spell a long a sound. We will practice distinguishing ay from a_e and ai throughout the week.  Stretching our learning, students selected 15 words rather than 10.  Extra practice at home is strongly recommended!
