Paragraph Writing

In writing, first graders have been working on writing paragraphs.  When writing a paragraph, first grade students include 4 different parts: Main idea sentence, detail sentence, explain the detail sentence, and a wrap up/conclusion sentence. We have done many paragraphs as a class, writing about camel and meerkat adaptations in the desert.  We also practiced by putting together paragraph puzzles.  The

checklist

paragraphs were typed out on strips of paper and the kiddos worked with a partner to put the puzzles together, identifying each part! There were many cheers and high fives exchanged between partners to celebrate their accomplishment!
