First Day of School

What a wonderful first day of school we had today!  These first few days are full of so many new things; routines, expectations and even where supplies are stored!  Each day will become easier and each day more learning will take place. We try to balance the tedium with fun activities that get them up and moving and visiting. Today we explored our classroom library and practiced book shopping for those “just right” books, we learned about graphs, and practiced logging into our new computers!  We also did some fun activities, such as “just like me” to help the kids find out fun facts about one another and read “The Night Before First Grade”, “First Day Jitters”, and “Morris Goes to School”!  I am looking forward to an amazing school year with this wonderful group of first graders 🙂
