Recess: Investigating Bugs

Our recess on Friday turned into an impromptu science lesson when students discovered some very interesting bugs in our backyard! Some were living (walking stick, caterpillar and ants) and some were not living (dragonfly, cicada shells). Students were able to watch the living bugs in action in the backyard. We brought a few of the nonliving bugs inside for our STEM centers. Students couldn’t wait to get a closer look and investigate each bug under the magnifying glass!
