Local Businesses

This week, students in first grade have been learning about local businesses. On Thursday, we had the treat of watching some of the first grade parents explain their local businesses to us via video. It was great to have a pandemic-friendly alternative to guest speakers! Students took notes about the businesses and considered many of the things they have learned so far this trimester: Does the business provide a good or a service? Who are the customers? What do the employees of the business do?

Students learned a lot of interesting facts about local businesses and got to see how the concepts they have been learning about are applied in the real world!
