Flexible Seating

First graders at The Summit begin their day by selecting a seat in the classroom that is comfortable and effective for them. We utilize flexible seating to give students a variety of comfortable, useful and fun options.

Children have lots of energy and are more successful when they get the chance to move. Flexible seating allows them to wobble, rock, bounce, lean or stand. This helps keep young minds more alert and focused, and gives young students the autonomy to choose their learning space.

Some flexible seating first graders enjoy in our classroom include exercise ball seats, Oodles, bean bag chairs, Bouncy Bands, spinning chairs, floor cushions, and more! Take a peek below at some of our flexible seating options and ask your student which is their favorite!
