This year, Summit students were lucky to have yoga added to our weekly schedule. First grade students benefited from our new yoga practice in many ways – mindfulness, breathing, body awareness, concentration, strength and flexibility. Students got to practice yoga both independently and cooperatively through traditional yoga and more non-traditional yoga-based games. A favorite of many students was the peaceful rest time at the end of yoga called “relaxation time”.


There are many yoga programs for kids that you can do at home, including Cosmic Kids Yoga and Yoga with Adriene. Check them out this summer!
