Recess: Cooperative Play

Recess time not only gives students a brain break and a chance to get moving, it also helps teach them valuable social skills! Through cooperative play, students learn skills such as problem solving, teamwork, conflict resolution, and how to be a good friend. Interacting with older and younger students (Kindergarten and second grade) on the playground also gives first graders a chance to interact with and learn from different aged peers. Ask your child what their favorite activity is on the playground!
