Fun in the Beautiful Weather!

We have been lucky to have such beautiful weather this week, so of course we took advantage!

This big collection of leaves on the playground has resulted in hours of work this week making it into the perfect giant leaf pile! Tons of moving leaves, jumping into the pile and making it “rain leaves” have kept first graders busy at recess this week!

We enjoyed our daily read-aloud outside in the nice weather on Tuesday! We just began a new book series: A to Z Mysteries by Ron Roy. (Ms. Ursino’s favorite book genre is mystery!) We finished reading the first book in the series, The Absent Author, on Wednesday and can’t wait to start the next book!

We had a delightful surprise during our afternoon snack time on Tuesday – Mr. Powers was outside playing his guitar! Students listened to the music and asked questions about the instrument while they enjoyed their snack. They even put in a few song requests – Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the Gummy Bear song.
