The Center of Our Solar System

We have spent a great deal of time and energy learning about Earth’s most important source of energy…the sun.  As a culminating activity, we created sun diagrams.  Take a look!

The first step was to research and learn as much about the sun as we could:

 

We then used our new gained knowledge to create finger paintings of the surface of the sun:

 

Continuing our learning of graphic organizers, we created diagrams using our finger paintings:

 

 

, In Writer’s Workshop, we have been studying the process of informational writing, utilizing the comprehension strategy of main idea and details to support our understanding.  We incorporated all we’ve learned about the sun.  So many skills are utilized in creating this project, we are really learning across the curriculum!
