Our First Trimester Celebration was a huge success!  The students were so proud to share their learning and projects with their parents, and the parents were so very impressed!  Our study of the solar system was such an example of learning across the curriculum!  We researched (which really improved our comprehension reading skills) and wrote informational texts.  We delved into what a poem is as we wrote Moon Acrostics.  We even explored the concept of place value as we tried to fathom the extreme distances of the sun and the planets.

Being able to see what we have been learning about was amazing.  Thank you Mr. Powers for helping us with the telescope!  The moon was a sight to behold.  We saw the North Star, Jupiter and its moons and even the rings on Saturn.  Truly wonderful!
