A Day in the Life of a Second Grader!

Second graders have quite a busy day at The Summit!  Take a look at all we do!

When we get to the classroom, we hang up our backpacks.

Then we make our lunch choice.

It is important to have a “just right” book in our drawer so we are ready to read.

Morning work gets us ready for our learning.

Readers’ Workshop is an important part of our day.  We learn how to become better readers.  We use erasable white boards almost every day.

Writing down our thoughts and ideas and sharing them helps us understand concepts.

We respect other students’ learning by staying quiet and in line on our way to recess and special classes.

Lunch is a chance for socializing…and filling our tummies.

Who doesn’t love recess!!!

Independent Reading is one of our favorite times of the day.

Math activities make practicing our skills so much more fun.

Math stations help us practice our skills and learn new ones.

Problem solving is a constant throughout our day.

Our Closing Circle is such a wonderful way to sum up the day.
