In addition to our movement and breathing in yoga class, have been working our way through the alphabet this year focusing on positive words that reflect who we are or something that makes a positive impact. The kids get to tell me what comes to mind for each of those letters.\u00a0 Here are a few words from the last few weeks that we have discussed.<\/p>\n
R:\u00a0 #1 was recess (this made me smile), royalty, rare, rest, ready, realistic, relax, reasonable, radiant<\/p>\n
S: #1 was smart,\u00a0 star, sun, super, safe, shiny, self, spectacular, slay, skibity (kid-speak can be positive)<\/p>\n
I’ve enjoyed hearing what the students think is a positive for them. I don’t limit the students to personal compliments, but anything that makes them feel or have a positive perspective.<\/p>\n
This coming week we will be doing Sounding Breath.\u00a0 This is where you cup your ears and listen to the sound of your own breathing. Most students say it sounds like waves in the ocean or the rain on the school roof.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
