As part of our biography unit, students have selected a notable American to study. Throughout this project, they will explore the life, accomplishments, and impact of their chosen figure, leading up to a special culminating project. More information on that coming soon! Right now, our focus is on <\/span>building our writing and research skills.<\/p>\n

Students are reading books, watching informational videos, and gathering important facts using graphic organizers. They are learning how to identify key details about their person\u2019s life, including important events, contributions, and why they are remembered today. This process helps students organize their thinking and begin to understand how to turn information into meaningful writing.<\/p>\n

To deepen their understanding of historical context, students also worked together to create a collaborative class timeline. This timeline highlights important events from the lives of the individuals being studied and helps students see how these figures fit into history as a whole. It has been a great way to build connections and spark conversations across our classroom!<\/p>\n

We are now in the beginning stages of biography writing, where students will start transforming their research into organized, thoughtful pieces of writing. This next step will challenge them to put their learning into their own words while focusing on structure and clarity.<\/p>\n
