Releasing the Butterflies!

We have been releasing the butterflies from our classroom butterfly garden over the past couple of days! You can see Sam feeding them nectar in one of the photos. Some of them hatched at different times, so we brought them outside twice to fly out when they were ready. The students were fascinated with them and this project helped us learn about animal life cycles. It just so happened that some of our spelling words correlated with this project too. We learned how to spell butterfly, migrate, and nectar. Next we will plant a mini vegetable and herb garden as we learn more about plant and animals structures.
