Today students learned how to write diamante poems. This type of poetry is in the shape of a diamond and consists of seven unrhymed lines. Diamantes can either be a synonym or antonym diamante, in which the first and last words have the same or opposite meaning. Today we practiced an antonym diamante. Students wrote this as a group! Brielle volunteered to read the poem to the class. I love what they came up with! (The format is off when I publish it, but it should be in the shape of a diamond.)
