Scarlett Weis has taught many years in public schools as well as the Springfield Catholic School system. A native of Colorado, she once rode Thunder, the Denver Broncos mascot, at all home games and the Super Bowl. Scarlett is passionate about literacy. She has specialized training in reading from the Missouri Reading Institute. In addition, she’s trained in the Daily 5, C.A.F.E., and Lucy Caulkins literacy programs. She has presented at tech conferences about her experience with Skyping in the classroom. Her students have met virtually with famous authors, sled dog kennel owners, and many other interesting individuals. Her classroom even met virtually on a weekly basis with a classroom in England.
Scarlett and her husband, Patrick, have one son, Raphael, who is a student at The Summit. In her free time, she enjoys her critters (2 bunnies, 2 pigs, and 2 dogs), riding, attending horse shows with Raphael, and reading.
