Unique of the Week

We had our first Unique of the Week last week. Unique of the Week in 4th grade is similar to a “Star Student,” and whom is randomly chosen for a full week of the school year. Each day has a special activity for the student to share–Monday is a “Sharing Sack,” Tuesday is an All About Me poster slideshow, Wednesday is a special anecdote sent in from a parent, such as a slideshow, video, or letter, Thursday is a presentation from the class of a special poster made for the Unique, and Friday, the Unique gets to lead an activity in Morning Meeting and then invite a parent for lunch.

We learned a lot about our Unique last week! We learned about her interest in and participation in the Apple Festival, where she has won a few awards. She has a penpal–whom she has never met–from another state. She loves all things space (including dressing up her siblings and having them play astronauts with her). She enjoys playing baseball, chasing clouds, Harry Potter, sewing, Sally Ride, playing “hay dance,” and her dog, Fluffball. We loved learning and celebrating our Unique this week!
