Hi families! As we are getting into more advanced fractions concepts, I’ve got a simple request for something everyone can work on at home to become more fluent with their fraction problem solving: Ask your kiddo what the fractional equivalent for whole numbers would be, giving them the whole number and a fractional unit. For example, if you gave them the fractional unit of 1/5, what would one whole be? Two wholes? Etc. (The answers are 5/5 and 10/5.)

Just doing this for 5 minutes a day for a little while (in the car, while you’re eating dinner, whenever!) should help so much!

Thank you!!
