Who wants to visit Colorado?

In writing this week, the students did some research on some cities in Colorado – Estes Park, Denver, and Vail.  Then they selected one that they wanted to visit.  They organized their researched information into main ideas and details using a graphic organizer and began rough drafting a five paragraph essay.  For this particular essay project, we focused on a more detailed way to use a graphic organizer to lay out ideas and considered the similarities and differences between introduction and conclusion paragraphs.  Next week, we will finish up these drafts, revise, edit and publish!  Ask your students where they want to go and why – they have lots of detailed reasons to visit these locations!
