Jefferson City!

Yesterday, the 4th and 5th grades went to Jefferson City to learn more about our state capitol!  We took a tour of the Capitol building, which was immensely beautiful with tons of paintings, stained glass windows, and sculptures of famous Missourians.  The tour doubled as a geological tour of our state as almost all of the stone used to create the building was quarried right here in Missouri!  We also toured the Supreme Court building where we saw the immense legal library and learned about the tiers of the Missouri court system.  Our guide for the Supreme Court building was one of the Supreme Court Justice’s clerks – it was fun to get her insight into the system and she loved all the great questions that our students were asking!  It was a super fun day!
