Icy Wednesday!

Hi Fifth Graders and Families,

Happy Icey Wednesday!  Here are some activities to keep your brain warm today!

  • All previous suggestions on GoogleClassroom are still available to you.  Including:  “Where I’m From Poem”, Magnets Nearpod, guidelines for upcoming projects, and the decimals Generation Genius link.
  • On the Epic! website, I have assigned a handful of readings on some Spanish conquistadors.   They are fun reads, with lots of pictures, diagrams, maps, and fun facts.  You can read one or all of them and there are challenging quizzes at the end.
  • On IXL – I recommended some fun activities about poetry and analogies.  Analogies are like logic puzzles with words – they play with the similarities between words.
  • Day of Play will take place the next day we are in school.  Get warmed up for it with a board or card game.
  • Here is a link to the website for the Smithsonian’s National Zoo in Washington D.C..  On this page, you will find a few videos, self-guided e-learning hubs, and (my favorite) bingo cards to use with the webcams on the various animals at the zoo!
  • Check out these suggestions from Specials Teachers here.
  • As always – carve out some time to read a really good book.

Have a fun, warm, and safe day today!  Looking forward to hearing about your snow day adventures when we return to school!
