IAC offers engaging, age-appropriate academic competitions for students beginning in Kindergarten, designed to build curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"an1\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/fonts.gstatic.com\/s\/e\/notoemoji\/16.0\/1f4da\/72.png\" alt=\"\ud83d\udcda\" data-emoji=\"\ud83d\udcda\" aria-label=\"\ud83d\udcda\" \/> What Is International Academic Competitions (IAC)?<\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">International Academic Competitions is a global organization that hosts academic events in subjects such as science, geography, and history. Competitions are fast-paced and fun, using buzzer-style questions that encourage critical thinking, teamwork, and academic confidence.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"an1\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/fonts.gstatic.com\/s\/e\/notoemoji\/16.0\/1f3c6\/72.png\" alt=\"\ud83c\udfc6\" data-emoji=\"\ud83c\udfc6\" aria-label=\"\ud83c\udfc6\" \/> What Are the IAC Regionals?<\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Regional Tournament is an in-person competition where students represent their school and compete with peers from other schools in our area. Events are developmentally appropriate and supportive, making them a great introduction to academic competitions for younger students. This year, The Summit is excited to be the host school for the Regional competition on Saturday, February 21, 2026.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"an1\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/fonts.gstatic.com\/s\/e\/notoemoji\/16.0\/1f9e0\/72.png\" alt=\"\ud83e\udde0\" data-emoji=\"\ud83e\udde0\" aria-label=\"\ud83e\udde0\" \/> How Do Students Qualify?<\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">For Interested Lower &amp; Middle School Students (Kindergarten\u20138th Grade):<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">All students must complete a free online qualifying exam in order to participate in IAC Regionals.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Group Qualifying Exam Date: Friday, January 30, during the school day<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The Summit will host and administer the exam on campus.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">After the exam, qualifying students will receive an ID number, which allows families to complete the $50 Bee registration for the Regional Tournament.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"an1\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/fonts.gstatic.com\/s\/e\/notoemoji\/16.0\/1f449\/72.png\" alt=\"\ud83d\udc49\" data-emoji=\"\ud83d\udc49\" aria-label=\"\ud83d\udc49\" \/> Qualifying Exam Sign-Up Form:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdaNFJ6SI-zPv4zulKm1NrD1CBNvIhmQ9ygnJy06GLhFUK36g\/viewform?usp=header\">https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdaNFJ6SI-zPv4zulKm1NrD1CBNvIhmQ9ygnJy06GLhFUK36g\/viewform?usp=header<\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">For interested High School Students (9th-12th Grade):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">High School Students do not need to complete the online qualifying exam, and instead can register directly to be in any of the regional competitions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Families can directly register through the regional competition page with a fee of $50 per bee: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iacompetitions.com\/event\/ozark\/\">https:\/\/www.iacompetitions.com\/event\/ozark\/<\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"an1\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/fonts.gstatic.com\/s\/e\/notoemoji\/16.0\/1f4d8\/72.png\" alt=\"\ud83d\udcd8\" data-emoji=\"\ud83d\udcd8\" aria-label=\"\ud83d\udcd8\" \/> Preparing for the Qualifying Exam: Study Resources<\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">IAC provides excellent, family-friendly study materials to help students prepare:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Study Guides (including national and regional topics):<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iacompetitions.com\/study-guides\/\">https:\/\/www.iacompetitions.com\/study-guides\/<\/a>\u00a0 &#8211; note the white set for our regional competition<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Study Guides from Past Years (organized by subject and year):<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iacompetitions.com\/study-guides-from-past-years\/\">https:\/\/www.iacompetitions.com\/study-guides-from-past-years\/<\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Mrs. Blair Verney is also hosting an after-school club this session to help students prepare. &#8211; Reach out to <a href=\"mailto:bverney@thesummitprep.org\">bverney@thesummitprep.org<\/a> or <a href=\"mailto:ajones@thesummitprep.org\">ajones@thesummitprep.org<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">These resources are optional but helpful, especially for students new to academic competitions.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"an1\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/fonts.gstatic.com\/s\/e\/notoemoji\/16.0\/2753\/72.png\" alt=\"\u2753\" data-emoji=\"\u2753\" aria-label=\"\u2753\" \/> Frequently Asked Questions<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Do students need prior competition experience?<br \/>\nNo. Many students participate for the first time through IAC. The format is welcoming and supportive, especially for younger students.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Is there a cost to take the qualifying exam?<br \/>\nNo. The qualifying exam is free.
