A Vet, A Teacher, Postal Workers and A Birthday Girl

What a fun and busy day!! We started off the day with Dr. Nicki (Nell’s Mom) and June! By the way, Nell’s Dad is also a vet. The kids loved June and listening to her heartbeat. The kids were so patient waiting on their turn! What a fun experience!

Caroline’s Mom, Mrs. Verney, came and talked about how teacher’s are also community helpers. Mrs. Verney teaches 5th grade here at The Summit.  Not only does Caroline have one teacher in her family, she has two. Her dad is a history professor at Drury. Mrs. Verney shared a book her husband wrote and recently had published. The kids loved all the books she brought to share and the huge map was so cool!!

We truly appreciate all the parents that were able to come and share with us how their jobs are so important to our community. Next year, the kids moving onto kindergarten, will learn even more about community helpers and the roles they play.

We also were postal workers today. We made our mail bags and delivered our letters to the mailbox at the front desk. We hope to get some responses from our friends and family that received our letters.

Caroline had her All About Me poster up this week. And last, but not least, we celebrated our first birthday of a friend in our class. Happy Birthday to Zoey!!

Enjoy the long weekend! A reminder that Monday is school picture day. See you then!!
