Culinary Arts

Students have been making fabulous use of their time in culinary arts this semester. We have prepared meskouta (a Moroccan orange cake), key lime pie, steamed eggs, steamed chicken, snickerdoodle cookies, and rice krispy treats just for fun. They’re practicing careful reading of recipes, preparation, organization, communication, and their knife cuts. It’s a small group of students, which allows for really authentic learning opportunities and some great community building. As other students arrive back upstairs from their end-of-day electives, they always check in to see what has been crafted in the kitchen and check to see if there’s any to share!
