High School Mathematics

Geometry – This week students focused on writing and proving conjectures about slopes of parallel and perpendicular lines, applying concepts of transformations in the proofs. They applied these ideas to other proofs, such as classifying quadrilaterals.

Data Science – Data Science students have begun their final unit of the semester, which focuses on statistics. Students worked to gather samples using a variety of methods: random sampling, stratified, systematic, and clustering. Then they created and analyzed frequency tables with relative frequency to answer questions and determine information about a study. Students also worked with different types of data categorizing it into nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio.
