Academic Competition Opportunity

Dear Upper School Families,

We are excited to share more information about an enriching academic opportunity available to our students: the International Academic Competitions (IAC) Regional Tournaments. IAC offers engaging, age-appropriate academic competitions for students beginning in Kindergarten, designed to build curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.

📚 What Is International Academic Competitions (IAC)?

International Academic Competitions is a global organization that hosts academic events in subjects such as science, geography, and history. Competitions are fast-paced and fun, using buzzer-style questions that encourage critical thinking, teamwork, and academic confidence.

🏆 What Are the IAC Regionals?

The Regional Tournament is an in-person competition where students represent their school and compete with peers from other schools in our area. Events are developmentally appropriate and supportive, making them a great introduction to academic competitions for younger students. This year, The Summit is excited to be the host school for the Regional competition on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

🧠 How Do Students Qualify?

For Interested Lower & Middle School Students (Kindergarten–8th Grade):

All students must complete a free online qualifying exam in order to participate in IAC Regionals.

– Group Qualifying Exam Date: Friday, January 30, during the school day

– The Summit will host and administer the exam on campus.

– After the exam, qualifying students will receive an ID number, which allows families to complete the $50 Bee registration for the Regional Tournament.
